My name is Amanda Young and I am the Transitional Kindergarten teacher here at NDS. TK is such a fun year as the students get to experience the 'big' school for the very first time. Watching them learn to love each other and follow in Jesus' foot steps is probably my favorite part of the year. Catholic education is something that holds a special place in my heart, the values it instills in children are values that I hold closest to my heart as well. I have been teaching in the early childhood field for the last 14 years, including time at Holy Rosary Parish School in Woodland, where my family and I live. I hold my Bachelors degree from University of Phoenix and I am currently finishing my Masters in Inspired Education and CA Teaching credential through National University. In addition, I hold a CA teacher Credential for Early Childhood Education. My favorite subjects to teach are the ones we can get hands on with and explore through doing. In my classroom learning is fun and we often times get messy exploring different subjects like apples, pumpkins, or bugs! Thank you for sharing your littlest ones with me this year and I can not wait to see how they grow and learn and begin to develop a love for Jesus and school!
