Mrs. Amanda Olivas

Mrs. Amanda Olivas

Hello! My name is Amanda Olivas. I am married and have two daughters who are eight and ten years old, two dogs (Pepper and Zoe), and a Leopard Gecko named Spikey! I was born in Zanesville, Ohio. My father was in the Air Force and we moved frequently when I was a child. I attended seven different schools during my childhood! I am the oldest of four siblings. I graduated from Brooke Point High School in Stafford, VA in 2001. While in high school, I was in the marching band, jazz band, and school choir. I love working with children and always knew that I would become a teacher. When I was in elementary school, I used to beg my teachers for their outdated teacher’s manuals so that I could “play school” at home. I graduated with honors from Brooke Point High School in 2001. I briefly attended college at The University of Arizona before deciding to take a lengthy break to get married and start a family. I graduated from Liberty University with my B.S. in Early Childhood Education in 2018. I have taught Pre-K at a Catholic School in Utah and 4th grade at a Catholic School in Arizona. I am passionate about sharing my Catholic faith with my students and am very excited to join the Notre Dame community as the Kindergarten teacher this year!
