Robotics
Notre Dame School offers multiple levels of Robotics in our after school program. Students are welcome to join hands-on Robotics workshops throughout the year and learn how to engineer basic robots. This is a wonderful opportunity for the students to build up their skills in mathematics, engineering, and science, by learning basic embedded computer programming using the LEGO robotics platform. Students learn different programming languages such as EV3 Lab, Scratch and MicroPython.
The NDS competitive team, called the NDS Fighting iBots, prepare for and enter robotics competitions! The iBots is a team that works together to design and build robots. The team researches a real-world problem such as food safety, recycling, energy, etc., and is challenged to develop an innovative solution. They also must design, build and program a robot using LEGO MINDSTORMS and SPIKE Prime systems, then compete with other teams on a table-top playing field.
Through the NDS Robotics program, students get valuable experience in the field of engineering and other technology-based careers. Students and their mentors work together and build on problem solving, teamwork, and technical skills – all while having fun!
