Week of March 20-24, 2023

Assembly: 7th grade
Virtue: Obedience
Scripture: Psalm 136: 1 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good. His love endures forever.
Person of the Week: Vincent Van Gogh
“God, as I go about my busy day today, I ask that you would give me a sense of peace and calm. Help
me not to get stressed out, worried or frantic by all the problems I see around me. Instead, please give
me a sense of peace and calm that comes from knowing You are in control, You have it all figured out,
and my best is enough because I can always trust You to take care of issues and situations I can’t.
Please help me keep my eyes on You today, not all the negativity in the world around me.”
This Sunday, March 19th is a Notre Dame School Mass at St. Mary’s @ 10 a.m. All
students who attend in full uniform will receive a free dress pass to use on Monday, March
20th.
SCIENCE FAIR JUDGES
Mrs. Green is in need of science fair judges for March 30th during the school day and for the
evening awards event. We would prefer parents with a science background/interest, however
we will be providing rubrics and guidelines so any help is welcome! We will also feed you a
delicious lunch as a thank you for volunteering. TTT hours can also be counted. To volunteer,
please email Mrs. Green as soon as possible at: lgreen@notredamevacaville.org
WASC VISIT
I will be off campus from Wednesdsay, March 22 to Friday, March 24, 2023 as I am part of a
WASC team for one of our Diocese schools. I know that Mrs. Smith and the leadership team
will have everything under control while I’m gone. Should you need immediate assistance,
please call the office or email Mrs. Smith at ksmith@notredamevacaville.org
CATHOLIC RATE FOR TUITION
Just a friendly reminder that in order to receive the Catholic tuition rate, families must have a
letter signed yearly by the Pastor of your parish. The guidelines for the Catholic rate include:
registered at a parish for a minimum of a year, regularly attend Mass, regularly contribute
financially to the church using parish offertory envelopes or online giving, and have been active
participants in the life and ministry of the parish. Letters must be received by the school office
by June 2, 2023 to receive the discounted rate for the 2023-2024 school year.
Lenten Service Projects
As a part of our Lenten journey, NDS will be participating in two service projects. The first
project will be the collection of coins for St. Vincent de Paul. The money collected will be given
to the poor within our local community. We will also be collecting empty plastic Easter eggs that
will be filled with candy for the Knights of Columbus to host an Easter egg hunt for St. Joseph
parish. Please see the attached flyers. Coins and empty plastic eggs can be brought in at any
time during Lent. St. Joseph Church also has rice bowls available to collect coins if you would
like to do that as a family Lenten project. Bowls can be picked up from the NDS front office if
interested.
Registration Fee
A registration fee of $350 per student will be deducted from FACTS accounts on May 1, 2023
for each student who is re-enrolling. If you need to make different arrangements for this
payment, please email Katie Cuevas, our bookkeeper: kcuevas@notredamevacaville.org
